Maria Schmitz has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Maria started their career as a Project Coordinator at Johnson & Johnson Medical, Inc., where they coordinated production processes. Maria then worked as a Business Analyst at Lucent Technologies, Inc., implementing SEI CMMI initiatives. At Utility Partners, Inc., Maria served as an Engineering Planner, planning and scheduling project activities for a software development firm. Maria later joined Raytheon, Inc. as a Project Scheduler, ensuring on-time and on-budget project completion for a defense and electronics manufacturer. Maria then joined TechMIS, LLC. as a Senior Program Analyst, analyzing and documenting project requirements for Boeing and NASA programs. Following that, they worked at CAE as a Senior Controls Analyst, evaluating production costs and performance. Maria also served as a VP of Programs at APICS Florida West Coast Chapter, where they connected chapter members and identified employment opportunities in operations management and supply chain. Currently, they are working at Chase as a Senior Information Technology Business Analyst in the Cyber Security Team. Maria will soon be transitioning to Juvare as an Agile Project Manager.
Maria Schmitz began their education in 1984 at Des Moines Area Community College, where they pursued an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Industrial Engineering. Maria completed their studies at the college in 1986. Following that, Maria attended the University of South Florida and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering between 1989 and 1992. In 1994, Maria returned to the University of South Florida to further their education in Industrial Engineering. In 2010, they enrolled at the Project Management Institute College of Performance (PMICOS) for the "In" degree program, completing it in 2012.
Maria Schmitz also holds certifications in Graduate Certificate in Earned Value Management from the Management Institute College of Performance Management (PMICOS), which they obtained in May 2011, and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from the American Society for Quality, earned in January 2007.
