Senior Strategic Researcher at Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County

Jomar Lopez is a seasoned public health professional with extensive experience in strategic research and community engagement. Currently serving as a Senior Strategic Researcher at the Juvenile Welfare Board since February 2020, Jomar manages the agency's 5-year strategic plan and provides progress reports to the Board, and is involved with the Pinellas Community Foundation’s Grant Review Committee. Previously, Jomar held the role of Community Health Educator and Research Partnership Program Coordinator at Moffitt Cancer Center, focusing on cancer prevention education for the Spanish-preferring Hispanic community. Earlier roles include HIV Prevention and Outreach Specialist at Metro Wellness and Community Centers, and various positions in administrative support and education. Jomar holds a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Biochemistry from the University of South Florida, both earned with Cum Laude honors.
