Wendy Amato has extensive work experience in the field of education. Wendy served as the Chief Academic Officer at K12 Coalition starting in 2020. Prior to that, they worked at the University of Virginia as an Instructor in the School of Education since 2009. In this role, they supported educators in meeting the needs of English Language Learners and focused on cross-cultural competence, differentiation, instructional strategies, language acquisition, assessment for learning, and behavior management. From 2012 to 2020, Wendy also held the position of Chief Academic Officer at WorldStrides. In this role, they were responsible for contributing to educational impact, financial growth, program innovation, operational effectiveness, and strategy across various areas of the organization's portfolio.

Wendy Amato holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Virginia. Wendy also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Innovation from JMU College of Business, a Master of Education (MEd) in Foreign Language Instruction from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in French Language and Literature from Bowdoin College.
