Aaron Young

CEO at Kaart

Aaron Young has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Aaron began their career as a GIS Specialist at ALK, a Trimble Company, from May 2004 to October 2005. Aaron then worked as a Consultant at ERM: Environmental Resources Management from January 2007 to June 2008, conducting assessments on fuel storage tanks in South Africa and writing environmental impact reports.

Next, Aaron joined the Bureau of Land Management as a GIS Specialist from August 2008 to March 2011, where they led data management protocols and provided support to the Resource Management Plan in the Grand Junction Field Office. Aaron also presented maps in management plan and public comment meetings.

In 2010, Aaron founded Kaart Data and served as Founder and CEO until December 2013. Here, they managed GIS data and resources for more than 50 countries, enabling accurate car navigation on multiple GPS platforms. Aaron also oversaw ecommerce, mobile app development, and licensing of data.

Aaron then founded GPSTravelMaps in December 2006 and served as its Founder. Aaron focused on developing and deploying accurate geographic data for car navigation systems in over 50 countries. Aaron was responsible for managing GIS, website, ecommerce, marketing, SEO, and staff resources.

Currently, Aaron is the CEO of Kaart since October 2013. Aaron provides guidance to a team of talented geographers and handles general CEO responsibilities.

Aaron Young completed their Bachelor's degree in Geography from Rowan University, where they studied from 2003 to 2004. Later, they pursued a Masters of Philosophy in Environmental Management from the University of Cape Town, from 2005 to 2007.
