Yu Wang

Yu Wang has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning from 2007 to the present. Starting in 2007, Yu worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at UBC Chemical & Biological Engineering Department until 2010. Following that, Yu served as an Administrative Assistant at Stanley Park Ecology Society from June to September 2010. In 2012, Yu became a Chinese Communication Volunteer Leader at the Canadian Cancer Society from July 2012 to January 2014. During this time, Yu also took on leadership roles in the CHBE Graduate Students Club, serving as VP Finance from June 2012 to August 2014 and President of CHBE GSC from September 2014 to May 2015. From October 2001 to December 2014, Yu worked as an Online Game Administrator at Eastern Story 2.

In 2013, Yu became a UBC A&D SCL Tutor at UBC Access and Diversity, a role that lasted until May 2016. Moving on, from September 2016 to September 2017, Yu served as the Head Facilitator at X-space Learning, where responsibilities included developing course schedules, conducting training workshops, and interviewing facilitator candidates.

In 2015, Yu took on two roles simultaneously. As a PHD Researcher at UBC Biomass and Bio Fuel Research Group, Yu contributed to publications and research until December 2018. Additionally, Yu served as a Business Co-owner at Blenz Coffee Crossroads, being involved in the development of business and financial plans, leading business negotiations, and ensuring daily operation standards were met.

Yu's most recent experience is at Kabam, where they have held various positions since June 2018. Starting as a Data Analyst until January 2021, Yu progressed to Senior Data Analyst until January 2022, followed by a role as Principal Data Analyst until January 2023. Currently, Yu holds the position of Data Engineering Manager at Kabam, beginning in February 2023.

Yu Wang completed a Ph.D. in Chemical & Biological Engineering from The University of British Columbia in 2012-2016. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2010, Yu Wang earned a Master's degree in Chemical & Biological Engineering from the same institution. Furthermore, Yu Wang received a Bachelor of Applied Science - BASc in Chemical and Biological Engineering from The University of British Columbia in the years 2002-2006.
