Kairos Power
Ryan Latta is a highly experienced nuclear engineer with a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University. Currently serving as Principal Engineer at Kairos Power since March 2018, Ryan focuses on the qualification of annular fuel pebbles for the KP-FHR, managing the fuel qualification program. Previously, as a Nuclear Fuel Development Engineer at TerraPower LLC from February 2011 to March 2018, Ryan was involved in program planning for nuclear fuel qualification, fuel irradiation testing, and project management for irradiation tests across multiple facilities. Ryan also held the position of Senior Materials Engineer at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory from August 2005 to February 2011, where responsibilities included fuel performance modeling and advanced fuel element design. Earlier experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at Purdue University, working on thermal modeling of composite ceramic nuclear fuels, and a Nuclear Engineer Student Co-op at Xcel Energy, focusing on BWR core physics and safety analysis.
