Jay Annam

Jay Annam is a research fellow at Columbia University Department of Psychiatry and New York State Psychiatric Institute, focusing on mitochondrial activity differences in depression and the effects of COVID-induced inflammation. Concurrently, Jay serves as a medical student researcher at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, participating in diverse research projects, including adrenergic signaling in prostate cancer. Previous experience includes a research specialist position at Emory University School of Medicine, where Jay utilized various laboratory techniques to study tumor cell biology, and an 8th-grade science teacher role that improved student pass rates. Jay's academic background includes an MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, a B.S. in Biology from Emory University, and an M.S. in Adolescent Education from Pace University.
