Markus Ovaska

Markus Ovaska is a Senior Data Scientist at RoadCloud Oy since October 2018, specializing in data from IoT sensor packages for vehicle fleet management. Previously, as a Data Scientist at Asqella from November 2017 to September 2018, Markus designed and implemented a deep learning computer vision system for automatic threat detection. Markus also served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Aalto University from June 2010 to October 2017, focusing on ice friction research, and has extensive experience in academic roles, including Project Researcher, Doctoral Researcher, Teaching Assistant, and Research Assistant at various educational institutions. Markus holds a Doctor of Science (Technology) in Engineering Physics from Aalto University and a Master of Science in Applied Physics from the University of Helsinki.
