Karen Venner is a seasoned professional with a strong background in food science and environmental health. Currently serving as a Project Manager at the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy since December 2023, Karen also holds the position of Environmental Health Specialist at Kalamazoo County Government, a role commenced in February 2022. Previous experience includes leadership roles as Microbiology Laboratory Operations Manager and Supervisor at Eurofins Food Integrity and Innovation, and Covance, respectively. Karen's career began at Kalsec Inc. as QC Technician II and included various positions at Food Safety Net Services, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and MPI Research in histology. Karen holds a Master’s degree in Biology and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and Psychology from Western Michigan University.
