Wendy Allen-Thompson

Wendy Allen-Thompson, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, CEN, EMT has a strong background in nursing and emergency care. Wendy began their career as a Flight Nurse at Mercy Flight Inc. in 2005, where they provided critical care during medical flights until 2017. Following this, Wendy joined the University of Rochester Medical Center, where they held various positions including Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Manager (responsible for opening the region's first off-campus emergency department), Assistant Director, and eventually Director of Emergency Nursing from 2011 to March 2023. Currently, Wendy is the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Kaleida Health.

Wendy Allen-Thompson, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, CEN, EMT holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Healthcare Systems Leadership from RUSH University, which they completed in 2022. Prior to this, they obtained a Master's degree in Nursing Leadership and Administration from Roberts Wesleyan University in 2019. In addition, Wendy has received certifications as a Nurse Executive Advanced Board Certified from ANCC in 2021 and as a Certified Emergency Nurse from BOARD OF CERTIFICATION FOR EMERGENCY NURSING (BCEN®).
