Cyril Germond

Senior Software Architect at Kalray

Cyril Germond has extensive work experience in the field of software and systems architecture. Cyril began their career in 1996 at Thales Alenia Space, where they worked as a software engineer on validation benches for satellites. Cyril then moved on to STMicroelectronics, where they worked as a software team leader, managing a team of 5 and handling project management for embedded software applications. In their role, they also managed the development process, software engineering, and validation on prototyped targets.

Next, Cyril joined Texas Instruments as a Layer 1 DSP Software Systems Engineer, responsible for the audio and speech software framework on OMAP-Vox SoCs. Cyril led a team of up to 10 people, designed and engineered new features, integrated signal processing algorithms, and provided customer support.

At Intel Corporation, Cyril held various roles, including Camera and Imaging Power and Performance Architect, Platform Power and Performance Architect, and Audio and Telephony SW Integration Team Leader. In these positions, they defined scenarios and targets for Atom and Core platforms, managed PnP targets, released documentation, managed change requests, and provided onsite support to customers. Cyril played a key role in launching successful platforms such as Samsung Galaxy Tab3 and Asus ZenFone2.

Most recently, Cyril worked at Groupe Renault as an Embedded Systems Architect. Here, they contributed to the architecture design of embedded systems and worked on projects until 2022.

Currently, Cyril holds the position of Senior Software Architect at Kalray, where they apply their vast knowledge and experience in software architecture.

Cyril Germond began their education at Lycee Montchapet, where they studied from 1982 to 1989. Although the degree name and field of study from this period are not specified, it is clear that they pursued a secondary education during this time.

In 1989, Cyril went on to attend INSA Lyon - Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon, where they pursued a Master of Engineering degree. Their focus of study at INSA Lyon was electronic engineering and microelectronics. Cyril successfully completed their studies at INSA Lyon in 1994.

In addition to their formal education, Cyril Germond has also obtained several certifications. In 2018, they completed the MITx 6.00.2x course on Introduction to Computational Thinking and Data Science offered by MITx on edX. Earlier that same year, they received a certification for completing the MITx 6.00.1x course on Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python, also from MITx on edX. In 2017, Cyril completed a Machine Learning course offered by Stanford University on the Coursera platform.

These certifications demonstrate Cyril's ongoing commitment to expanding their knowledge and skills in the fields of computer science and data science.
