Andrew Lee, Ph.D., currently serves as the Director of Food Protection - Antimicrobial Innovation at Kalsec Inc. since August 2018, and has held various roles including Senior R&D Manager, Research and Development Manager, and Microbiology Lead Scientist within the company. Prior to Kalsec Inc., Andrew worked as a Research Associate at Virginia Tech, where contributions included assessing the impact of yeast starter culture on cocoa fermentation and developing a laboratory model system for cocoa fermentation. Andrew also has experience as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Virginia Tech, and as a Research Engineer at Seoul National University. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology from Virginia Tech, an MS in Agricultural Biochemistry from Seoul National University, and a BS in Food Science and Technology from Chungbuk National University.
