Pankaj Sonalkar

Pankaj Sonalkar is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the automotive and powertrain sectors. Currently serving as Managing Director at Kalyani Powertrain Ltd since November 2023, Pankaj has previously held significant positions at Mahindra Group, including Director of M I Q I Technical Advisor to the MD & CEO and Chairman of the Board at Mahindra Heavy Engines, focusing on quality assessment and learning programs. Pankaj has also led the Electric Vehicle Technology Center at Mahindra and Mahindra Limited, driving the design of electric powertrains, and served as Chief Operating Officer for the Mahindra Ford joint venture. Earlier positions include CEO of Mahindra Vehicle Manufacturing Limited and MD & CEO of Mahindra Navistar Engines Pvt Ltd, where Pankaj made critical contributions to manufacturing and engine development. Pankaj holds an M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
