Dawn Christian

Dawn Christian is an experienced executive with a focus on belonging, inclusion, equity, diversity, access, and social justice. Dawn is the CEO and Founder of Belong by Dawn Christian, an executive coaching and strategic consulting firm. Dawn has also held leadership positions at GCI Health, where they served as the EVP and Head of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accountability & Social Impact (IDEAS) & Cultural Marketing, and as the Senior Vice President and Head of Inclusion, Equity & Diversity. Prior to that, they worked at AstraZeneca as the Associate Director of Learning Strategy and Inclusion & Diversity Champion, and as the Head of Global Product Portfolio and Cross-Cultural Communications Strategist. Before AstraZeneca, Dawn held positions at Astellas Pharma, Amgen, Inc., Chubb, INROADS, and Genentech, where they gained experience in marketing, inclusive marketing, talent development, program management, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Dawn is known for their ability to develop inclusive and belonging cultures, drive strategic initiatives, and create partnerships to promote diversity and inclusion.

Dawn Christian has a diverse education history that includes obtaining various degrees and certifications. Dawn received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, from 1998 to 2001. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, completing it between 2006 and 2008. Furthermore, they participated in an International Exchange Program in General Management at IESE Business School in 2007. In terms of certifications, Dawn obtained a Leadership Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University in May 2019. Dawn also acquired a Certified Mental Health & Wellness in the Workplace Practitioner certification in August 2022 from The Bowman Foundation for Workplace Equity and Mental Wellness. Additionally, they became a Black History Month, Every Month Founding Member through Grapevine in July 2022 and completed the Black Executive Leadership Program from McKinsey & Company in May 2022.
