David Zhang

David Zhang has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries.

David worked as a Director at Foxconn Industrial Internet, where they focused on big data, AI, smart sensors, precision tech, and industrial IoT. David was responsible for analyzing product failure and defect detection, as well as quality assurance on automation production lines.

Prior to that, David was the VP of Engineering at Kandao Technology Ltd. Co., overseeing the Hardware Division, which included departments such as Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

David also served as the Director of R&D and CTO of one of the subsidiaries at Sichuan Energy Investment Group Co. Ltd. During their time there, they were involved in projects related to hydraulic power, oil, chemical engineering, gas, and new green energy.

At Philips Lighting, David held the position of Principal Scientist, where they primarily focused on solar energy lighting management and optimization. David worked on various aspects, including battery electro-chemistry, controller electronics algorithm development, and multi-physics modeling.

Before that, they were a Senior Scientist C at Philips Lighting, where they led projects on LED lamps test automation and design optimization for LED road luminaries.

David also worked as an Industrial Scientist at Defond Group Ltd, where they acted as a higher scientific consultant and provided industrial application solutions for the solid lighting business division. David was involved in joint-ventures and OEM/ODM projects with companies such as Cree and OSRAM.

Early in their career, they served as a Senior R&D Engineer and Assistant Director at CT Electronics Ltd. Co, a thermal solution supplier. David focused on thermal analysis for solid/phase-change heat sink product design optimization for CPU/GPU in laptops and desktops.

Throughout their career, David has gained expertise in areas such as big data, AI, smart sensors, precision technology, industrial IoT, hardware engineering, hydraulic power, oil, chemical engineering, gas, green energy, solar energy, LED lighting, and thermal analysis.

David Zhang completed their education in a chronological order. David began their academic journey in 1999 at Zhejiang University, where they studied Condensed Matter Physics for one year. Following this, from 2000 to 2007, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Semiconductor Physics/Instrumentation at The University of Hong Kong.
