We are actively seeking a Software Engineer, Lausanne, Switzerland.

Overview of the role:

The successful candidate will join the Kandou software team as an individual contributor. They will have responsibility for writing, verifying and maintaining the software used to support our products. In many cases this will be the software tools used by our design engineers and customers to verify, characterize and demonstrate our silicon.

You will have sole ownership – planning, delivering, and maintaining code – for some new projects, created within an existing infrastructure. At other times you will be working on larger projects and within the current team of programmers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new features for internal and external SW products
  • Contribute to design and architecture of future SW
  • Maintain and improve the existing code base
  • Ensure code quality via implementation and running of software test suites
  • Collaborate with embedded software, lab and digital teams to develop software packages for new silicon products

Essential experience:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Electronics or equivalent
  • Proficient in Python and C
  • Interest in and knowledge of algorithms & data structures, object-oriented design, and software patterns.
  • Basic knowledge of low-speed HW interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART and JTAG
  • Experience with modern software engineering workflow (CI/CD, git, automated tests)
  • Experience with devOps systems such as GitLab, Azure DevOps or GitHub
  • Deployment of cross-platform SW products
  • Good documentation, organizational and presentational skills
  • Strong motivation for learning new skills and acquiring new areas of knowledge

Useful experience:

  • Linux kernel driver development and userspace application development

  • Skills in developing GUI-based applications (GTK, Qt, web-based UI)

  • Experience in SW/HW diagnosis using tools such as logic analyser & oscilloscope

  • High speed serial communication using Serialiser/Deserialiser (SerDes)

  • Knowledge of high-speed protocols such as PCIe

  • Programming in Embedded Systems environment

  • Knowledge, experience or formal training in electronics
