Ron Tharappel

Ron Tharappel serves as the Engineering Superintendent for Modifiers at Kaneka North America since August 2024. Prior to this role, Tharappel was the Business Manager for Polyolefins at Phillip Townsend Associates Inc., leading a team focused on benchmarking for the Asia/Middle East and Global markets. Tharappel's extensive experience includes positions at Braskem as Process Engineering Leader, Commissioning Manager, and Senior Production Engineer, where strategic technical support and process improvements were key responsibilities. Previous roles at Total Petrochemicals and Refining USA, Inc. encompassed various technical service and management positions, showcasing expertise in polymer manufacturing, R&D, and operational efficiency. Tharappel holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry from the University of Houston.
