Justin Mekjean has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Justin is currently working as a Software Engineer at Kangarootime since April 2022. Prior to this, Justin worked as a Software Developer at Anthology Inc. (formerly Campus Labs) from July 2020 to April 2022. In this role, they contributed to the development and maintenance of Campus Lab's student engagement product, utilizing React and C#. Before that, they worked as a Software Developer at Campus Labs from December 2019 to July 2020.
In 2018, Justin worked as a Junior Developer at Empire Genomics, LLC, where they handled front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Justin also created a MySQL database for product information storage.
Justin's earlier experiences include working as a Student at the University at Buffalo from July 2017 to December 2019. Prior to that, they held roles at Erie County Board of Elections, including Printing Department Supervisor (January 2015 to July 2017) and Information Systems Operator (January 2014 to December 2014).
Their career began as a Graphic Designer at Artvoice from March 2012 to December 2013. Here, they created client-driven advertisements, designed weekly articles, art-directed photo shoots, and developed online and print advertising. Justin gained additional graphic design experience as a Summer Associate at AD Creative London in 2011 and a Spring Associate at Artvoice in 2011.
Lastly, Justin worked as a Freelance Graphic Designer at Prime Stack in 2010.
Justin Mekjean completed their education at two different institutions. From 2007 to 2011, they attended Buffalo State University where they pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Communication Design. Following this, from 2017 to 2019, Justin enrolled at the University at Buffalo, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Computer Science.
