Lizhi (leo) Zhao

Lizhi (Leo) Zhao has an extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Lizhi (leo) began their career in 2003 as a Senior Scientist/Group Leader at WuXi AppTec. In 2009, they worked as a Co Op at GSK. From 2010 to 2014, they were a Scientist at DSM where they designed and developed the 2nd generation process of Vitamin products, resulting in two patents being filed. From 2014 to 2017, they were a Scientist of Process Chemistry at GSK, where they managed all the API related activities and served as the lead chemist to develop the strong partnership with the internal CMC team and drug discovery project teams. From 2017 to 2020, they were the VP of Process R&D at Shanghai ForeFront Pharma Co. Ltd. Currently, they are the Executive Director of Chemistry Development (CMC) at Kangpu Biopharmaceuticals, Ltd.

Lizhi (Leo) Zhao received their Bachelor's Degree in 1996 from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University. Lizhi (leo) then attended Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 2000 to 2001, where they earned a Master's degree in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Lizhi (leo) also attended Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry from 2000 to 2003, where they earned a Master's Degree in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Finally, they attended Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Medicinal Chemistry.
