Charlisa Shelly

Charlisa Shelly, SHRM-CP, currently serves as the Chief People Officer at Kansas City Zoo, a position held since January 2021, after previously directing Human Resources at the same organization from November 2013 to December 2020. Charlisa was instrumental in establishing a new Human Resources Department and developing policies, training programs, and succession planning initiatives. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Human Resources at Isle of Capri Casino and Market HR Manager for Wal-Mart in the West Missouri Market, where responsibilities encompassed various HR functions such as compliance, staffing, and talent management. Charlisa's HR career began at Harrah's Casino, and academic qualifications include a BA in Communication Arts/Human Relations from Park University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Missouri.
