Matt Burns

Matt Burns is an experienced security professional currently serving as the Security Manager at Kansas City Zoo since November 2020. Prior to this role, Matt worked in inside sales at Owen Lumber Co. and as a legal investigator while self-employed. Matt's extensive background in management includes serving as Store Manager at a retail hardware store and a notable tenure as a Sergeant with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department from 1987 to 2012. Educationally, Matt holds an Associate of Arts degree from Kansas City Metropolitan Community College, completed between 1985 and 1987, and attended Rockhurst High School.
