Matthias Christen

Matthias Christen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in leadership and management within cultural and educational sectors. Currently serving as Regionalleiter BIZ Emmental Oberaargau at Kanton Bern since June 2022, Matthias previously held the position of Leiter Dienst Filmförderung at Bundesamt für Kultur from September 2016 to June 2022. Prior roles include Head of Programme for European Educational Programs Comenius/Grundtvig and Project Coordinator for these programs at ch Stiftung für eidgenössische Zusammenarbeit from January 2013 to August 2016. Earlier experience includes a volunteer position at WWF Switzerland, project leadership at Universität Bern, and various teaching roles in different schools from 2004 to 2012. Matthias holds a DAS in Verband-/NPO-Management from Université de Fribourg and a Lizentiat/Master in Geschichte & Soziologie/Geographie from the University of Bern.
