João Carlos Távora Pinho

Managing partner, he founded Kapitalo Investimentos in September 2009 together with Carlos Woelz. João Carlos started his professional activities in 1980 as a project engineer. He became a financial market executive in 1989 when he joined Bank of America as Vice President & Senior Investment Banking Officer. From 1996 onwards he worked at Nomura Securities International as Managing Director and Head of Brazil Investment Banking, being responsible for the operation in Brazil. In 1998, he joined Banco BBM SA, as Partner and Statutory Director, responsible for the distribution of the bank's products in the local and international market, where he remained for over 11 years. João Carlos holds a degree in Civil Engineering from PUC-RJ and a postgraduate degree in Finance from FGV-SP.
