Stephanie Lake is the Chief of Staff to the Managing Partner at Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP.

Stephanie works to support the Managing Partner in overseeing the firm and developing and implementing strategic initiatives to support the firm’s growth.

Stephanie joined Kaplan Hecker from the US Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of New York, where she worked as an Assistant US Attorney. As an AUSA, Stephanie’s broad practice included the investigation and prosecution of cases involving fraud, Bank Secrecy Act and sanctions violations, international and domestic narcotics trafficking, money laundering, terrorism, sex trafficking, and other federal crimes. She previously worked as a litigation associate at Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason & Anello and at Boise, Schiller & Flexner. Stephanie also volunteered as a Volunteer Law Clerk for the Chicago Legal Assistance Foundation and as a Field Organizer for Obama for American in 2008.

Stephanie completed clerkships with the Hon. Robert D. Sack of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the Hon. Lewis A. Kaplan of the Southern District of New York.

Stephanie received her JD from Stanford Law School, where she received multiple honors including the John Hart Ely Prize for outstanding leadership and Gerald Gunther Prizes for outstanding performance in federal courts, corporations, and contracts. She was a senior development editor and member editor of the Stanford Law Review, and a lead article editor and associate editor of Environmental Law Journal. Stephanie received her BA, magna cum laude, from Yale University, where she also received the David Charles Laertes Saltzman Award and the John Spangler Nicholas Prize.
