Dr. Paul A. Bott earned both his master’s degree in vocational education and the doctor of education in curriculum and instruction from UCLA. His baccalaureate degree is from California State University, Los Angeles. He served for over 30 years as a faculty member at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB)—the last 16 years as chair of the professional studies department. Prior to employment at CSULB, he taught vocational education courses in secondary and community college programs as well as in the military. Upon his retirement from CSULB, Bott founded a firm dedicated to helping new and existing career schools and colleges in all areas ranging from accreditation, institutional assessment, government compliance, and marketing.

Bott is the author of two texts widely used in occupational education teacher preparation. He has served on three statewide task forces to determine standards for teacher preparation in California. Bott is a former public commissioner, vice chair, and chair for the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges, a national accreditation organization.
