Olivier HOUZE has a diverse and extensive work experience in the petroleum engineering industry. Olivier began their career in 1983 as a Field Engineer at Flopetrol-Johnston (Schlumberger) and later became a Research Engineer at the same company. In 1987, they co-founded KAPPA Engineering and served as the Managing Director until 1990. Olivier also held the role of SPE Board - Technical Director for Reservoir and Distinguished Lecturer at the Society of Petroleum Engineers International from 2012 to 2015. Currently, they are working at the Society of Petroleum Engineers International and will serve as the SPE Board - 2025 President starting in 2023.
Olivier HOUZE obtained an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University in 1982-1983. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at École Polytechnique, obtaining a degree in Ingénieur Généraliste from 1979-1982. Olivier also attended Lycée Masséna Nice from 1976-1979 for their preparatory classes in Maths Sup / Maths Spé.
