Seongcheol Jang

Seongcheol Jang has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of audio and voice technologies. Seongcheol has held various leadership and management roles in different companies throughout their career.

Seongcheol Jang started their career at Samsung Electronics in 1985 as a Research Engineer. Seongcheol worked there for six years, focusing on A/V processing circuits development and DSP software development for digital audio data compression. Seongcheol then moved on to become a Senior Engineer at Samsung Electronics, where they served as an Engineering Manager and Program Manager for DVD-related LSI development.

In 2001, Seongcheol Jang transitioned to a role as Principal Engineer and Audio Lab Manager at Samsung Electronics. As an Audio Lab Manager, they established a new lab in the R&D center, while working on hybrid DVD recorder projects and technical planning for improving sound quality in home theater products.

In 2007, Seongcheol Jang joined DTS, Inc. as Director of Product Management, where they oversaw product strategy and development. Seongcheol then joined Cadence Design Systems, Inc. in 2012 as a Sr. Manager in Audio/Voice/Sensor Fusion Product Marketing, responsible for identifying new opportunities and defining future product requirements for audio/voice DSP cores and software codecs.

Seongcheol Jang then worked at Knowles Corporation as both a Director of Business Development and later as a Sr. Director of Business Development. In these roles, they actively promoted smart microphones, voice processors, and ASIC-based smart mic and DSP mic for mobile, IoT, and ear customers worldwide. Seongcheol also owned the marketing aspect of the Korea business.

From 2019 to 2021, Seongcheol Jang served as the Sr. Director of Business Development & Sales at DSP Concepts, Inc. Seongcheol was responsible for promoting DSPC Concept's Audio Weaver Solution and far-field Voice User Interface technology to the Korean and selected US markets. Seongcheol managed customer relationships in those regions.

In 2021, Seongcheol Jang joined SAR Insight & Consulting as the Director of Audio & Voice Technologies, where they led initiatives in audio and voice technologies until December 2022.

Currently, Seongcheol Jang holds the position of VP of Business Development, APAC at Kardome.

Seongcheol Jang obtained their Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh from 1997 to 2001. Prior to that, they earned their MS in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis from 1991 to 1993. In 1985, they completed their undergraduate studies at Hanyang University, where they received a BS in Electronic Engineering. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Six Sigma (Black Belt) certification from Samsung Electronics in March 2005.
