Jamilla Akhund-Zade

Jamilla Akhund-Zade is a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist and Investigative Computational Biologist at Karius since September 2020. Prior to this role, Jamilla completed a Ph.D. in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology at Harvard University, where extensive teaching experience included serving as a Teaching Fellow and receiving multiple Certificates for Distinction in Teaching. Additionally, Jamilla held various editorial positions at the Journal of Emerging Investigators from January 2015 to June 2020, including Editor-In-Chief, where management of the publishing branch and mentorship of young authors were key responsibilities. Previous research roles at Cornell University and Stanford University contributed to a strong foundation in biological research, with notable projects on Drosophila melanogaster leading to significant academic outcomes.
