Rachel Jarrard

Rachel Jarrard, PhD, is an experienced manager and educator with a strong background in biomedical research and contract management. Currently serving as the Manager of Pre-Award Contracting at Karmanos Cancer Institute since November 2014, Rachel has held multiple roles including Pre-Award Contract & Compliance Manager and Senior Pre-Award Specialist for Clinical Trials. Prior to this position, Rachel worked as a Class Instructor at Mad Science and an Instructor in the Biological Sciences Department at Wayne State University. Rachel's research experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship focusing on exocytosis mechanisms and advanced electrophysiology at Purdue University, where research led to four co-authored publications. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology from Purdue University and a BS in Biology-Chemistry from Saint Joseph's College.
