Safiya Husain

Safiya Husain is the Co-Founder and Chief Impact Officer at Karya, where they drive research and impact initiatives. They have previously held roles as a Research Consultant and Knowledge Translation and Advocacy Consultant at the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie), as well as Data Consultant at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Background in anthropology enhances their multidisciplinary approach to social research, focusing on agriculture, education, governance, and humanitarian assistance. Safiya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Sarah Lawrence College and a Master of Science in Evaluation and Applied Research from Claremont Graduate University. In 2013, they interned with the UNHCR, specializing in political research related to the Syrian refugee crisis.
