Milena Karailieva has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Milena started their career as a Journalist at AII Data Processing in 2001 and transitioned into a role as a Human Resources Consultant at Correct-Consult Bulgaria Ltd in 2006. In 2007, Milena joined the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC) as an HR Specialist, where they were responsible for recruitment and talent acquisition programs. Milena then moved to BTC as a Succession and Career Planning Specialist before joining VIVACOM in 2009. At VIVACOM, Milena served as a Senior Performance Appraisal Specialist, focusing on staff evaluation and retention programs. In 2014, they joined Kaufland Bulgaria as a Training and Personnel Development Manager, where they successfully organized and conducted various employee training programs. In 2017, Milena transitioned to the role of HR Systems and Programs Implementation Manager in the Sales Department at Kaufland Bulgaria. Currently, they hold the position of Human Resources Director at Kaufland Bulgaria.

Milena Karailieva received their Master's degree in Psychology from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski from 1997 to 2002. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at 91 Немска Езикова Гимназия "Проф. Константин Гълъбов" from 1992 to 1997, specializing in German language. Additionally, Milena holds certifications in "Leading with Emotional Intelligence" from LinkedIn and "Deutsches Sprachdiplom 2 Stufe" from Kultusministerkonferenz. Milena has also obtained the "EFSET Quick English Check - Score: Advanced / Proficient (CEFR C1/C2)" certification from EF Education First.
