Javier Ruiz

Javier Ruiz is a faculty professor at KAUST since July 2019, contributing to advanced research in chemistry and catalysis. Previously, Javier worked as a researcher at Nouryon and Akzo Nobel Chemicals, focusing on innovative chemical processes and zeolite applications. Educational background includes a master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and an Ingeniero in Chemistry from Universidad de Granada. Early career experiences include assistant professor responsibilities at Universiteit Utrecht and postdoctoral research at the University of Alicante, where Javier led projects on nanomaterials and spectroscopic studies. Notable projects include the conversion of oxygenates into chemicals and the development of new catalysts for hydrogenation reactions.
