Jim Garrison

Founder, President, Chief Academic Officer, Faculty at Ubiquity University

Jim Garrison is the founder, president, and chief academic officer of Ubiquity University, a for-profit benefit corporation that offers BA and MBA degrees online. Jim is also the co-founder and former president of the State of the World Forum.

Garrison began their career in 1995 as the co-founder of the State of the World Forum, an organization dedicated to promoting peace and sustainability. Jim served as president of the organization for 15 years, during which time they helped to transition it from a non-profit to a for-profit entity.

In 2005, Garrison was brought in to Wisdom University to help turn around the financially challenged graduate school. Jim made the decision to get rid of the school's campus in Oakland, CA and initiated a policy of "Globe as Classroom," whereby students would take their studies to different locations all over the world. Jim also pioneered what they called "Full Spectrum Transformational Learning," which fused in-person, online, and social networking capacities in Wisdom University's Doctoral and Masters programs.

In 2012, Garrison decided to expand Wisdom University and transition it into Ubiquity University, a for-profit benefit corporation that would offer BA and MBA degrees online. The Wisdom School of Graduate Studies continues to operate inside Ubiquity University, providing Doctoral and Masters degrees.

Jim Garrison earned their Doctor of Philosophy from Cambridge University in Philosophical Theology. Jim then went on to earn their MTS from Harvard University in the Jim'story of World Religions and Christology. Finally, they earned their Bachelor of Arts from the University of Santa Clara in World Jim'story and Political Science.
