Ömer Faruk Eker

Ömer Faruk Eker has been working in the field of data science since 2008. Ömer Faruk started as a Graduate Research Assistant at TUBITAK, and then became a Research Fellow in Simulation and Test and a Doctoral Researcher at IVHM Centre, Cranfield University. In 2011, they moved to Artesis Technology Systems as a Product and Business Development Manager. In 2013, they began working as a Freelance Data Scientist, and in 2020 they became a Senior Data Scientist at Kavaken. In this role, they have been leading the Predictive Maintenance module of Kavaken, managing projects (Teydeb 3200569, Teydeb 9210054) and handling customer relations (Borusan EnBW, Eksim, Erciyas). Ömer Faruk has been involved in many projects which require field data collection, data cleansing, feature extraction/selection/reduction, predictive analytics, forecasting, diagnostics, prognostics, optimization and data visualisation from different engineering fields.

Ömer Faruk Eker obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Cranfield University in the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained an Integrated BSc & MSc from Marmara University in Mathematics from 2003 to 2008. In addition, they have obtained several certifications from LinkedIn and MathWorks, including Apache Spark Essential Training, Learn Industrial Automation, Applied Machine Learning: Foundations, Deep Learning, Data Science Foundations: Python Scientific Stack, Learning SQL Programming, Python for Data Science Essential Training, and Azure Machine Learning Development: 1 Basic Concepts.
