Wout Smits

Wout Smits is an experienced urbanist and architect, currently serving as a director and urbanist at KAW architecten since October 2005, where involvement includes leading urban transformation projects and participating in a coordination team. In addition to this role, Wout Smits is a member of the Q-team specializing in post-war housing neighborhoods in Capelle aan den IJssel since March 2023 and serves as an atelier lecturer at Rotterdamse Academie van Bouwkunst since September 2021. Wout Smits previously contributed to urban research and course development at NHTV - Breda University of Applied Sciences and engaged in research, analysis, and teaching at TU Delft from 2001 to 2007. Earlier experiences include positions at Enno Zuidema Stedebouw, atelier Quadrat, and NEXT architects. Wout Smits holds a Master of Science degree in Urbanism and Architecture from Delft University of Technology.
