Mr. Setyono Djuandi Darmono is the President Commissioner of the Company, and is one of the founders. He started as the Managing Director/CEO of the Company in 1989, Vice President Director in 1994,Commissioner in 1996 and President Director/CEO in 2000 until 2015. Prior to founding PT Jababeka, he was President Director and founder of PT Permada Binangun Jaya, a residential estate developer in South of Jakarta. He was senior manager of ICI (Imperial Chemical Industries), a world leading chemical company until 1981, served 3 years in the United Kingdom as Market Manager and returned to Indonesia as the Head of Textile Dyes Operation for PT Galic Bina Mada until 1990. He completed his study as textile engineering at Bandung Textile Academy (Berdikari) in 1970. He was the 2004 award recipient for Ernst and Young Best Entrepreneur in Manufacturing Industry, 2005 CNBC CEO Choice of the Year in Indonesia and Indonesia’s Choice CEO of the Year in 2005 by the Indonesia Business Leader Award. He also currently serves as advisor to the board of the Indonesia Australia Business Council (IABC), Chairman of PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) Indonesia Chapter, Chairman and founder of PT Pembangunan Kota Tua Jakarta (Jakarta Old Town Revitalization Corporation/JOTRC) and is the author of several books, the most recent titled Building a Ship while Sailing. Mr. Setyono Djuandi Darmono is the father of Mr. Sutedja Sidarta Darmono, a member of the Board of Directors.
