Nikos Makris

Nikos Makris is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in emerging market investments and macroeconomic strategy. Currently serving as Senior Advisor and Partner at Kaya Partners since September 2021, as well as Venture Partner at Ascension from May 2018, Makris has held pivotal roles in various financial institutions. Having been a Strategic Advisor at Macrosynergy since October 2020, and previously Co-Chief Investment Officer, Founder, and Partner at Macrosynergy Partners from September 2009 to July 2020, Makris has specialized in currencies, interest rate products, sovereign debt, and equity indices. Earlier career positions include Portfolio Manager and Co-Head of Emerging Markets at BlueCrest Capital Management, Senior Trader/Portfolio Manager at Gulf International Bank, and leadership roles at both Latin Rim and Santander Investment. Makris' educational background includes a Master's degree in International Economic Policy from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Studies and Economics from Oglethorpe University.
