Kayhan Space
André L. Antunes de Sá has worked as a Sr. Astrodynamics Engineer at Kayhan Space since 2021. Prior to that, they were a Graduate Student Mentor, Graduate Research Assistant, Graduate Teaching Assistant, and Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2015 to 2021. During their time at the University of Colorado Boulder, they studied the prevalence of energetic lightning and its association with severe weather, using a combination of ground and satellite data, and designed LF radio instrumentation for collection and processing of lightning atmospheric radio data (“sferics”). André L. also ported Time/Frequency Difference of Arrival (TDOA/FDOA) measurement models, implemented statistical filtering algorithms, and developed a .NET interface for an orbit determination framework in C++/C#. Additionally, they were the Founder/President of a club at Amherst College from 2012 to 2015, leading club meetings and projects, writing example code and designing circuits to facilitate learning of embedded electronics, and coordinating club projects and resources.
André L. Antunes de Sá has an extensive education history. From 2010 to 2014, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and Astronomy from Amherst College. André L. then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering Sciences from the University of Colorado Boulder from 2014 to 2016. André L. also obtained a number of certifications during this time, including an Amateur Extra Class License from the Federal Communications Commission in February 2019, an Engineering Graduate Student Mentor Certificate from the University of Colorado Boulder in April 2017, and an Astrodynamics and Satellite Navigation Systems Certificate from the University of Colorado Boulder in May 2016. André L. is currently in the process of obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Aerospace Engineering Sciences from the University of Colorado Boulder, which they are expected to complete in 2021. Additionally, they obtained a Private Aircraft Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in August 2017.

For operators of small or large constellations of satellites who need to have a complete situational awareness of their fleet with utmost reliability, Kayhan provides a fully scalable cloud-based collision avoidance service. Unlike other services, Kayhan’s notification system easily integrates with any form of notification channel and ensures that the operators are aware of the upcoming high-interest events. Kayhan uses complex mathematical algorithms and advanced machine learning techniques to aid operators to make the safest avoidance decisions, because at Kayhan we understand that a safe space domain is the best space to operate in
