Nathan Healey

Nathan Healey, Ph.D., currently serves as the LANDFIRE Vegetation Ecologist Lead at KBR, Inc., where responsibilities include contracting for the USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center. Nathan has held various scientific roles at the USGS EROS Center, focusing on climate, global issues, and imaging spectroscopy. Prior experience includes work as a Remote Sensing Scientist at Galileo Group, Inc., and as a Postdoctoral Scholar at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where Nathan studied the thermal behavior of inland water bodies in relation to climate change. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Science in Natural Resource Sciences from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Northern Arizona University. Noteworthy research contributions involve analyzing Arctic vegetation and utilizing robotic sensor systems for long-term climate monitoring.
