Beeta K. has a diverse work experience in the healthcare field. Beeta started their career as an AmeriCorps member at Heartland Community Health Center in Lawrence, KS in 2012. In 2013, they became a Certified Marketplace Navigator at the Kansas Association for the Medically Underserved (KAMU) and an AmeriCorps member at Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department. Beeta then joined the UNMC Center for Reducing Health Disparities in 2015 as a Graduate Assistant, where they worked on various projects related to mental health issues, race, diversity, and equity. In 2016, they worked as a Program Coordinator/Analyst at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, overseeing the planning and implementation of technical assistance activities. In 2017, they took on multiple roles at KC CARE Health Center, including Program Director and Program Manager. Beeta is currently serving as the Program Director for the Midwest AIDS Training + Education Center of Missouri. Additionally, in 2017, they briefly worked as the Project ECHO Program Coordinator at the KU Center for Telemedicine and Telehealth. Overall, Beeta K. has a wealth of experience in program management, coordination, and community engagement within the healthcare sector.
Beeta K. earned a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree in Maternal and Child Health from the University of Nebraska Medical Center from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of General Studies degree in Political Science and Government, Peace and Conflict Studies, and Pre-Medicine from The University of Kansas from 2008 to 2012. They also obtained additional certifications in LGBTQ+ Cultural Competency from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2016, CPR & First Aid from the American Heart Association in October 2012, and Mental Health First Aid from the National Council for Behavioral Health in 2012.
