Jon Rood

Jon Rood has a diverse work experience in engineering and design roles. Jon began their career at Lawrence Paper Co. in 1993 as a Maintenance Engineer/Draftsman. Jon went on to work at Modernfold Door & Wall (formerly EMCO) as a Project Engineer, where they designed moveable wall systems for various establishments.

In 1998, Rood joined Saunders and Assoc., LLC as a mechanical/electrical engineer. During their tenure, they designed mechanical interface pieces for testing equipment, lay-out and designed PC boards, and developed new equipment.

From 2019 to 2022, Rood served as a Senior Design Engineer at Local Motors, contributing their expertise to the design team. Following that, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer at DPI Off-Road Brands for a few months in 2022.

Rood also has experience as a Co-Owner of El Matador Sports, LLC, where they organized rally races, conducted car modifications and builds, and specialized in suspension systems.

Currently, in 2022, Rood is employed as a Product Design Engineer at KC HiLiTES, Inc.

Jon Rood obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Industrial and Product Design from The University of Kansas. Jon attended this educational institution from 1988 to 1993.
