Christopher J. Griffith

Christopher Griffith is KCI’s president and chief operating officer. A former officer in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineering Corps, Chris was hired as an associate by KCI’s construction management group in September 1997. He was appointed head of the group in September 1998 and promoted to senior vice president in 1999. In 2006, Chris was named head of KCI’s Mid-Atlantic region and promoted to executive vice president. With the firm-wide reorganization in 2010, he became discipline manager for construction services before he was appointed to oversee the firm’s Environmental, Communications Infrastructure, Site/Facilities and Resource Management disciplines. He was promoted to COO in 2017.

Chris earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the United States Naval Academy as well as master’s degrees in business administration from Boston University, civil engineering from the University of Maryland, and ocean engineering from the University of Hawaii. He is a registered professional engineer in four states and a certified construction manager.

Chris is a past board member for the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) and chaired the organization’s Standards of Practice/Professional Development Committee, where he became involved in training the next generation of industry leaders. He is also a long-standing member of the Society of American Military Engineers. He also served as past president of CMAA’s National Capital Chapter, and past director of the American Council of Engineering Companies / Maryland. Chris is currently a member of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce’s Maryland Competitiveness Coalition Committee, the Harford County Chamber of Commerce’s Military Committee and the YMCA of Harford County’s Community Leadership Board.
