Claire Gilby has over 18 years of experience in communications, marketing, and public relations. Claire is currently the Director of Communications, Marketing & Data at KCLSU, where they are responsible for ensuring that students understand the purpose of the organization and feel a strong sense of belonging. Prior to this, Claire held various roles at King's College London, including News & Event Manager, Deputy Director of Corporate Communications, and Acting Director of Corporate Communications. Claire also acted as the Director of Public Relations during a maternity leave absence. Claire has worked as a Freelance Account Director at Rain Communications PR and as a PR Manager at the Royal Horticultural Society. Claire began their career as a Senior Press Officer at the Natural History Museum and later worked as a Press & PR Officer at the National Maritime Museum. Claire also has experience as a Press Officer at the Environment Agency and as a Researcher at the BBC.

Claire Gilby holds a BSc in Ecology & Conservation from the University of Sussex, which they obtained between 1999 and 2002. Claire also completed an MSc PG Dip IC in Science Communication at Imperial College London from 2002 to 2003. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in Crisis (Response) Communications Management from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in 2012.
