Jon Gilbert

Jon Gilbert is a founding member and Partner of KCM Capital Partners LLC. Jon has a deep background in lower middle market business services, value-added distribution and specialty industrial end markets, with more than 15 years of private equity, leveraged finance and operational experience, over which, he has led or participated in the direct investment of more than $750 million of debt and equity capital.

Prior to co-founding KCM, Jon was a Managing Director with JZ Partners, a leading Chicago and New York-based private investment firm focused on lower middle market buy-and-build strategies, where he structured, executed and managed direct private equity investments across a wide range of lower middle market companies, including those in the industrial, manufacturing, business services, value-added distribution, consumer products and healthcare sectors, while serving or acting as an observer on the Board of Directors for twelve portfolio companies. Prior to JZ, Jon was in the Equity Sponsor Group of National City Bank (now PNC), where he was responsible for originating, underwriting and negotiating senior credit facilities in support of private equity buyouts and recapitalizations. Prior to National City, Jon held various operating positions at advertising and media/entertainment companies in Chicago and Los Angeles.

Jon received his MBA, with a concentration in Finance and Strategy, from the University of Michigan, where he also received a Master of Public Policy in international and economic policy. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. He lives with his wife and three children in the northern Chicago suburb of Wilmette.
