Richard Boon

Richard Boon is a Non-Executive Director at KCR Residential REIT. Richard was previously with Dods Group PLC and Local World Media.

Boon has been in the investment business for many years and has a wealth of experience in different aspects of the industry. Richard became a Non Executive Director at Local World Media in August 2014 and was responsible for the due diligence and purchase of the 10.6% stake in the company.

In February 2015, Boon played a lead role in a refinancing exercise which resulted in the return of investors' initial risk capital by way of special dividend. Richard also took a lead role in the contested trade sale of Local World Media in November 2015, which generated a £20m net profit on top of a £7.5m investment over 34 months for an 82% IRR.

Richard Boon graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. Richard then attended Victoria University of Wellington, where they completed a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in accounting. After graduation, Richard Boon attended Wellington College, NZ, where they studied for a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) certification from the CFA Institute.
