Reiko Shimbo

Reiko Shimbo is an experienced business development professional at KDDI Corporation, currently serving as the General Manager of the Carrier Business Department since April 2022 and previously as Senior Manager in the Global Consumer Business Development Department, focusing on growth in the Africa region. With a strong background in co-creating innovative business opportunities through strategic partnerships and startup collaborations, Reiko played a key role as a founding member of the KDDI Open Innovation Fund, developing global investment strategies for identifying innovative startups. Prior experience includes positions as Project Lead at NAVITIME JAPAN Co., Ltd. and NFC Service Strategist and Regional Sales Marketing Specialist at NTT DOCOMO, INC., where skills in marketing and customer relationship management were honed. Reiko holds a Master's degree in Behavioral Economics from The Chicago School and has additionally pursued studies at UC San Diego Extended Studies and prominent universities in Japan and Spain.
