Wayne Lyon

Wayne Lyon is an accomplished healthcare professional with extensive experience in Health Information Management (HIM) and coding. Currently serving as the Director of HIM Coding at Keck Medicine of USC since September 2015, Wayne develops strategic initiatives for inpatient and outpatient coding, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while optimizing technology and workflow. Previously, Wayne held several key roles, including Manager of HIM Coding at Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Assistant Director and Coding Manager at Tenet Healthcare, and Lead Coder & Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist at St. Mary Medical Center. Wayne's career began in the United States Air Force as a Medical Administrative Specialist. Wayne holds a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Southern California, a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from the University of Cincinnati, and an Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology from Rasmussen University.
