Michael Welch has a diverse work experience in the field of design and art direction. Michael has worked as a Freelance Art Director for KEEN since April 2019 and also held the position of Freelance Senior Designer for the same company since October 2017. Prior to that, they worked at Michael Welch Co. as a Freelance Designer since 2008, building a client base with a focus on craft brewing/beverage/culinary brands. Michael also worked as a Comms ETW Freelance Designer for Nike from January 2017 to August 2017. Previously, they worked as a Senior Designer at ENGIN Creative from January 2015 to May 2016, where they were involved in various campaigns, including Adidas Global, Nike Athletic Training, Nike+, and Jordan. Michael also worked on projects for other clients such as New Era, Nau, and The Academy Awards. Before that, they held the position of Designer at HERENOW Creative Network from December 2011 to January 2015, where they oversaw production and design for several accounts, including Nike and non-Nike clients like Converse and Whole Foods. In addition to these roles, they have also worked as a Designer at Magneto Brand Advertising from February 2010 to December 2011, as an Art Director/Lead Designer at Mustaches for Kids (Portland) from September 2007 to February 2010, as a Freelance Designer at Helsinqi from December 2009 to January 2010, and as an Art Department Intern at Portland Monthly from March 2009 to June 2009.
Michael Welch pursued their education in graphic design, starting at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2005. Michael spent a year there before transferring to The Art Institutes, where they completed their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from 2006 to 2009.
