Behnam Rahimi

Behnam Rahimi, PhD, PEng has a diverse work experience in various roles in mechanical engineering, research, and development. Behnam'smost recent position was as the Director of Intelligent Systems, AI, and Data at Keirton Inc. Behnam was responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of intelligent systems and artificial intelligence technologies. Prior to that, they worked as an R&D Engineer at Kadant, where they focused on Nicholson Manufacturing Ltd. projects. Behnam also served as an R&D Engineer at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), where they were involved in designing air oxygen enrichment membrane separation systems and conducting cost analysis.

Earlier in their career, Rahimi gained experience as a Product Design Engineer- Thermal Systems at SeaStar Solutions and as a Mechanical Engineer intern at Finning (Canada), where they worked on designing and engineering various mechanical systems. Behnam Rahimi, PhD, PEng received their education in a chronological order. Behnam obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in 2008. Behnam then pursued their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from the same university, completing it in 2011. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Victoria and earned a PhD in Engineering in 2016. In addition to their formal education, Behnam Rahimi has also obtained various certifications, including an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF) from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2021 and a professional engineer designation from Engineers and Geoscientists BC in 2018.
