Erich S. Huang, MD, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of medicine and bioinformatics. In 2011, they began as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Surgery at Duke University Medical Center. Erich S. was then appointed as the first faculty recruit to a new initiative and new Division at Duke in the Department of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics in 2014. In the same year, they were also appointed as a Faculty at the Center for Genomic & Computational Biology at Duke University. In 2015, they became a Scientific Advisor for Pillsy. In 2016, they founded k\u0113laHealth and in 2017, they founded Clinetic and was appointed as the Director of Duke Forge. In 2020, they were appointed as the Chief Data Officer for Quality at the Duke University Health System and in 2021, they became the Chief Science and Innovation Officer at Onduo, a Verily company.

Erich S. Huang, MD, PhD began their educational career at Harvard University where they earned an AB in Theirtory & Literature between 1986 and 1990. Erich S. then attended Duke University School of Medicine where they obtained an MD/PhD in Genomics between 1993 and 2003. From 2003 to 2007, they completed their General Surgery Residency Program at Duke University Medical Center, earning an M.D. in General Surgery. Erich S. then went on to complete a Surgical Chief Resident program at the same institution from 2007 to 2008.
